It is important a church knows its business
and knows what is none of its business

In our day of clubs, civic organizations and special interest groups, it is easy to
lose sight of one's purpose. We take very seriously our reason for existence.

Jesus Christ stated the five purposes of His church in two passages of
Scripture commonly called "The Great Commission" (Matthew 28:19,20) and
the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39). Summing up these verses,

  • Celebrate......... God's Presence through Worship

    "Shout with joy before the Lord." Ps. 100:1

  • Demonstrate ....God's Love through Ministry

    "Love your neighbor as yourself." Matt. 22:39

  • Communicate....God's Word through Evangelism

    "Becoming all things to all men." I Cor. 9:23

  • Educate.............God's People through Discipleship

    "Let your roots grow down into Him" Col. 2:7
  • Motivate .......... God's Family in Fellowship

    "Let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind." Heb. 10:24
